The Accidental Boilermaker

I saw the doctor today and got a good report.  Baby's heart rate was in the 140s and he/she is still head down.  The doctor said she wished all her patients were as easy as me : ) The nursery is just about all ready for the baby to arrive so I thought I would share some photos of our decorations.  A huge thank you to my sister Meredith whose creativity designed most of the nursery!! The giraffe can't wait for the baby to arrive : ) Meredith free hand drew this picture.  The streamers are leftover from the baby shower. Changing table arrived yesterday and Nate put it together with no problems.   Another one of Meredith's ideas.  I will have to hang the other initials once the baby gets here.

Nate and I got to go to a Virginia Tech basketball game last night.  We had lots of fun even though we lost.  Even better than the fact that the tickets were free because I won them through work was that we each got a free Hokie scarf at the game!

37 weeks!!!  I had an appointment last week Thursday and everything looked good.  I haven't packed a hospital bag yet, but the car seat is in the Mazda.  Baby blanket is close to being finished and the nursery decorations are up (I need to take and post some pictures).  I have a shower this Thursday and Sunday so I am gearing up for lots of thank you card writing : )

We had our first baby shower yesterday.  It was organized by the other three post-docs from the VA and lots of the psychologists came over to celebrate.  The shower was safari themed with a super cute and really delicious giraffe cake. Surprise - it was "zebra" inside! There were two types of punch - one pink and one blue - with little duckies floating around. And the decorations were amazing too. Just one of many gifts we received; Meredith gave us this cute onesie.

34 week appointment went well today.  I gained 4# and am measuring at 33 weeks - so everyone was happy.  Not much else to report in the baby world.  Our first shower is on the 11th and I am super excited.  A friend from the VA is throwing it and I can't wait to see what she has planned.  I'm still running about 18-20 miles per week, but I mix in lots of walking.  My crochet baby blanket is coming along nicely; hopefully it will be finished in the next week. 34 weeks - 6 to go!!
