Rock Band

Busy Saturday for us today.  I had to get up early to attend a conference at work.  It was good and I learned some new things.  Nate and Evelyn didn't get to run because it was rainy and cold so instead they got doughnuts.  Tonight we all went over to some friends' house to play Rock Band.  The drums were by far Evelyn's favorite. She did take a small break from the drums to play her own guitar in Ruu's dog bed. More drums!  Helping dad play.

Dishwasher

In addition to folding laundry and putting away groceries, Evelyn's third favorite chore is emptying the dishwasher. She is best at removing silverware but does okay with bowls and plates.   Later in the day she helped me make cupcakes for my interns' goodbye lunch tomorrow.  Who needs toys when you've got canned vegetables? S'mores cupcakes.  They taste as good as they look - I couldn't fit all 12 in my tupperware so Nate and I shared one.

Groceries

Evelyn really seems to like to help put groceries away.  I also need to try to get some pictures of her helping to empty the dishwasher too.  That's another favorite activity as well.

Park

Evelyn turned 14 months last week Friday, but I didn't post anything specific since we were out of town.  Today we went the park so I figure this post can double as Evelyn's 14 month update. Evelyn loves to go out and do stuff, whether going for runs in the jogging stroller, getting groceries, or playing at the park.  The swing is definitely her favorite, but today she enjoyed this steering wheel too. She likes to look at books and read stories.  She still very much enjoys taking toys in and out of different containers.  She loves to wave at people and cars, can play peek-a-boo by herself, and has started to blow kisses too. I'm very hesitant to say anything lest I jinx myself, but sleeping has been going very well.  Even in Georgia Evelyn slept like a champ.  She is still a terrible napper so usually she is ready for bed between 6:30 and 7:00, but is sleeping though the night with no problems (knock on wood). After the park, we ...

Easter

Happy Easter!  And happy Katherine is back from India!  Nate, Evelyn, and I left early Friday morning for Gainesville, Georgia to meet up with my mom, dad, Kate, and Meredith.   On Friday we went to the park.  Evelyn loves to swing. And she also liked hiding in trees. Later in the day we got ice cream.  Under 40" - Evelyn got a free baby cone! Enjoying some good ice cream. On Saturday, Nate went with Meredith to crew practice.  Katherine did some work at Starbucks and Evelyn and I went with my mom and dad to the children's museum.  It was really nice with lots of different areas for kids to dress up and learn. Paging Dr. Evelyn Farmer Evelyn  Easter morning was very relaxing.  We listened to church online since church in the South tends to start late and we needed to be on the road shortly after lunch. Sisters - this weekend marked the first time since Thanksgiving 2012 ...
