Komet hockey

We went to a Komets hockey game last night with my parents.  And it was princess night.  There were lots of little girls dressed up as their favorite princess.  Evelyn went as Elsa.  They both got their pictures taken with all the princesses,  There was Snow White and Jasmine Merida and Cinderella Moana, Ariel, and Aurora  Belle and Rapunzel  And of course Anna and Elsa.  Evelyn was very excited to see Elsa. Once we saw the princesses Evelyn was insistent we hurry back to our seats so we wouldn't miss the start of the game. After the first period there was an on-ice princess parade.   The Komets lost but we had fun.  My favorite part was during one for the cheers Evelyn got confused and instead of cheering "lets go Komets" she yelled "lets go Hawks!"

Toledo Zoo

We took a trip to the Toledo Zoo today.  It was cloudy and kind of chilly, but lots of animals were out and active.  We saw the polar bear. In the reptile house Jameson really liked this anaconda. One of my favorites was the hippos.  They were in the water for a bit. And then one got tired of water and got out. It was exciting to see the elephants.  The little one kept playing with a cut tire.  It would lift up the tire and place it on its back kind of like a scarf. Then the elephants moved into their barn and we watched them inside for a while. Evelyn and Jameson said their favorite part was seeing the gorilla up close. We watched the orangutans for a bit and then Jameson asked to go back and see the gorilla one more time. We were lucky and caught the dive show at the aquarium. Our last animal we saw on our way out was the tiger

Sick

I started to feel under the weather on Saturday and by Sunday was feeling pretty crummy.  Today has been better but I’m not back to 100%. Poor Jameson said his tummy hurt at breakfast this morning and sure enough on the way to school he threw up in his car seat. He seemed fine once home and cleaned up but then got sick one more time.  Even after that he seemed ok, but by the time we needed to leave to get Evelyn he was very cuddly. He fell asleep on the way to school.  He ate a few pretzels and drank some Gatorade without any trouble so he and Evelyn watched Cinderella before we had to pick up our groceries (I decided it was a good day to use Kroger’s order online, curbside pick up service).  Poor Jameson was a mess though; he said his tummy hurt again and he just wanted me to hold him. Thankfully he was fine in the car.  We got our groceries and he didn’t get sick although he did fall asleep again.  Back home again, he ate some crack...

Happy birthday

Today was Nathan’s birthday. We went out to brunch, a brewery we’ve never been to before. We were  fortunate and got seated right away and the food was really good. Then we went to Sweetwater Music  to pick out some earphones for Nate to use when he plays guitar at church.  I was too hesitant to buy them without his input plus the kids love to play the free arcade games and go down the slide. Then it was back home for some relaxation.  And then last but not least a little ice skating. It is the final day for the outdoor rink and since we were there for opening weekend it felt right to be there today.
