Haircuts

Before After Evelyn reading her boxcar children book while she waits.

More snow days

Yesterday was another e-learning day (Evelyn) and snow day (Jameson).  They also had their well child appointments in the morning. We had the Toyota and Nate took the Mazda since it had a flat and he had put the spare on the night before, but the Toyota really didn’t want to start. But it did finally and we weren’t late. Evelyn and Jameson are both healthy.  Evelyn weighs 52 lbs (58th percentile) and is 49 inches tall (68th percentile). Jameson weighs 43 lbs (64th percentile) and is 44.25 inches tall (74th percentile). The car started no problem when we were done, we dropped off the tire which couldn’t be fixed because the nail causing the flat was in the side wall so I bought a new tire, came home, quick made lunch and Evelyn got on her 11:50 phonics zoom. Phew - a busy morning.  Jameson’s teacher sent some fun indoor activities to try like freezing small toys in a ziplock bag filled with water. They both liked breaking through and melting the ice to rescue the toy...

Snow day

So much snow! We got about 12 inches yesterday. It snowed off and on all day but the most snow came during the evening and overnight. Nate and I shoveled before bed and then in the morning. I was very thankful that he had the day off Monday and then also that he was able to work in Fort Wayne today. Evelyn and even Jameson had e-learning days. Jameson just had paperwork to do.  Evelyn had all her normal zooms plus an extra TV studio/media zoom where it was just her and two other students (in fairness to everyone else, Evelyn’s teacher sent an email about the zoom late and honestly I was just lucky to see it). I enjoyed listening about what she learns when she goes to the TV studio. Finally when school was all done, it was time to play outside.  It’s also Mardi Gras. I made a king cake yesterday and it turned out pretty good. Instead of a plastic baby, we hid a Lego minifigure.

Happy Valentine’s Day

We had a nice relaxing Valentine’s Day. We had been to church Friday night so we could sleep in and take our time getting showered and dressed. I made teddy bears for Evelyn and Jameson with super soft velvet yarn. I picked up some fancy chocolates for me and Nate to enjoy too.  The velvet yarn was fun to work with and I had lots leftover for other projects. However I don’t think the velvet yarn will hold up as well as regular acrylic but it is so soft. I have no idea why Evelyn’s bear worked up bigger than Jameson’s.  I made his second so I must of just crocheted my stitches tighter.  I also made a bear for Mimi for Valentine’s and her birthday.

Valentine’s Day parties

Evelyn and Jameson had their Valentine’s Day parties today.  Only Jameson needed to make a box and he picked shark themed.   I did feel a little bad, the box he picked to make (we copied an idea off Pinterest), there wasn’t a lot he could do to help. He did glue on the eyes and extra hearts and told me he was happy with the final product.  He did write his name on all his valentines.  As did Evelyn - she picked airhead valentines to pass out to her classmates.

Happy birthday Evelyn

Evelyn turned 7!  Another Wednesday so another 2 hour delay, but Nate was able to work out of Fort Wayne and we all enjoyed donuts for breakfast together. I didn’t get a picture of her in bed because I was on donut duty but I did get one of her coming down the stairs.  Evelyn also got a giant birthday balloon because why not? They are fun and you only turn 7 once.  She opened a few presents after breakfast. Jameson picked a rock painting kit so she can paint and hide her own rocks around town. Evelyn also got lots of books which is good because she loves to read, a puzzle, some legos, and a several other arts and crafts activities. She picked mama mia’s pizza for dinner just like Jameson.
