Surprise visitor

My parents came out for a visit this past week and they brought with them a surprise visitor - my Mimi!  We all had a really nice time and Evelyn got to spend all day Monday and Wednesday home from daycare with her grandparents.

Fun weekend

Evelyn met her Michigan grandparents this weekend.  We had a really nice visit and great weather until Sunday.  Which is kind of frustrating because it is the second time Pat and Paul have had trouble getting home from Virginia. Napping with Grandpa Enjoying some sun with Grandma Snug as a bug Evelyn started daycare today, but because of the bad weather, my supervisor called at 7:30 to tell me wait till this afternoon to drive in.  Which is nice in some ways - I got sort of a "dry run" getting Nate and Evelyn out the door before getting ready for work myself.  It will also be nice to have a half day as my first day back.  It is strange though to be home by myself without her.

Busy week

Evelyn and I have survived our busy week!  All we have to do today is get groceries.  Monday I had a doctor's appointment.  Tuesday we visited at daycare.  I swear there are some babies there that could eat Evelyn as a snack - they are so big compared to her!  Yesterday we went to a class at the hospital called breastfeeding for the working mom and learned some helpful information.  The instructor was the same lady who taught our prepared childbirth class so it was nice to catch up with her.  Then finally we had to stop by employee health to get my return to work papers all in order.  Evelyn slept through the whole process. Posing with her first postcard from Aunt Meredith Yes I let my child sleep on the bathroom floor - it is her favorite place in the whole house.  We think it has to do with the fan.  And no, I did not notice the spit up on her sleeve till after I took the picture. I just like this picture.

Sunday

There's a new baby goat on the farm. Nate and Evelyn catching up on that lost hour.

One month check-up

Evelyn had her one month check-up on Thursday.  She weighed 7lbs 7.5oz and was 21.25 inches long. So she is growing, but still a pretty tiny baby.  We go back in two weeks for another weight check. Friday, Evelyn and I took a trip to New River to visit with my co-workers at the hospital.  She does really well when meeting new people.  I think it is because it involves a ride in the car so she is sound asleep when we arrive at our destination. Nate and Evelyn tried out his new kite this morning, but that's about the most exciting thing that's happened today.  Next week will be very busy because it's my last week before I go back to work. But on Thursday Evelyn will get to meet her Michigan grandparents!!

One month

Evelyn turns one month old today and it's Nate's birthday!  And it's snowing : ( We had a busy weekend - looked for cheap baby clothes at a big consignment sale, watched UVA beat Syracuse, and went to church for the first time on Sunday.   awake and happy in her bouncer
