Memorial Day

We had a fun filled Memorial Day weekend in Michigan.  Saturday we spent up at the cottage.  Evelyn loved playing in the sand. Jameson enjoyed relaxing on the deck with Nate  and with Grandpa Paul. Jameson also got to go on his pontoon ride. Evelyn had fun fishing with Nate.  There didn't use a hook, just a big bobber that Evelyn liked to cast out and reel back in over and over again. On Sunday to we drove to Hudsonville to watch the Indy 500 and then made our way to Holland to stay the night with Ben, Amanda, Isaac, and Joshua.  Evelyn playing with the water table.  I thought the weather was going to be rainy all weekend, so I only packed one pair of shorts for her and no swim suit, but she didn't seem to care. Monday we went to the beach for more adventures in the sand and water.  It will be fun when Jameson is bigger and can be right down there playing too.

Park

We have spent a lot of time at the park lately.  Tuesday Evelyn even chose the park over story time.  She recently discovered the see saw, but the swings are still her favorite. While at the park on Wednesday, we saw them turn on the water for the splash pad.  Technically the water isn't turned on till Memorial Day.  So Thursday Evelyn and Jameson wore their swim suits just in case. And the water was still on!  Evelyn was super excited. Jameson was a little more suspicious.  I don't blame him, the water is cold. Evelyn played in the water a long time before she decided she was done.  We changed clothes and stayed a little longer before heading home. Usually I will wear Jameson at the park so he sleeps, but he is also pretty happy to hang out in the stroller.

4 month check up

Jameson had his 4 month check up today.  Doctor thought he looked good.  Jameson weighed 16.5 lbs (67th percentile) and was 27 inches long (99th percentile).  This afternoon we enjoyed a visit from Sondra and then I took Jameson for his first run in the jogging stroller. And just for fun, here's a comparison picture between Jameson and Evelyn at about the same age: Jameson 5/20/16 Evelyn 5/15/2014

Recap

A lot has happened in the last few weeks.  We bought a house and moved!  The new house definitely feels like home now, even though we still aren't fully unpacked. Evelyn adjusted very well to the new house.  She took to her big girl bed (a twin mattress on the floor) with no problems.  She loves to slide down the stairs on her tummy and run around on the back deck. The swing in the backyard is a favorite too.  We are also really close to a big park and the Fort Wayne trail system which makes everyone happy. Jameson turned 4 months old today.  He also adjusted well to sleeping in the crib, in his new room. He sometimes has trouble going down at night but rarely wakes up to nurse. He can almost roll over.  He has rolled from tummy to back twice and is super close to rolling from back to tummy. And at times, it appears that he purposefully bats at objects.  Jameson is still very good natured and easy to take shoppi...

Bike

Evelyn got her balance bike yesterday!  She was so excited.  She is still a little short for it; her feet just barely reach the ground when she sits on the seat.  If she straddles the bike, she can walk it pretty well.  We weren't going to buy one quite yet, but then Nate's friend and owner of the bike shop told us that he only had two balance bikes left and he wasn't going to be able to order any more before Christmas.  So we decided not to wait and said Evelyn will grow. Nate couldn't resist getting a picture of Evelyn in his team jersey.
