The Accidental Boilermaker

I haven't posted in a while but we had a really nice Memorial Day weekend.  It started Saturday with Nate finding out he passed his licensing exam! So we went to the Parkway Brewery (which is surprisingly close to our house) to celebrate. Evelyn got to enjoy some live blue grass music. Then Sunday my parents and Katherine arrived.  We went for a run on Monday and just spent most of our time relaxing.

Amanda, Isaac, and Aunt Celia drove down from Michigan to spend the weekend with us.  We had a really fun time.  Isaac got to help feed the chickens, goats, and cows and everybody helped start the garden. Out in the garden Gathering up rocks Planting onions Planting tomatoes

One day they are going to be best friends - they just don't know it yet.

Evelyn was dedicated at church today.  She did great - no spitting up or crying.  After church we took some mother's day photos. This picture wins best photo of Evelyn : )

Yesterday I co-hosted, with a psychologist at the VA, a baby shower for another psychologist at the VA.  It was a beautiful day and Evelyn was super well-behaved. Onesie banner And then people wrote little wishes to the new mom and dad on the smaller onesies to hang on the clothes line. Nate and Brandon were very helpful both with decorations and... and baby duty. Actually Nate also assembled these strawberry shortcake skewers while I took care of Evelyn before the party started.  Party favors - little paper bags filled with caramel popcorn.

It is getting increasing difficult to capture pictures of Evelyn not moving.

I suppose technically this isn't Evelyn's first run since "we" did manage to do a fair amount of running before she was born, but we will say it is anyway. We drove to Salem and ran 4.5 miles along the Riverwalk Greenway.  I think Evelyn enjoyed it because she slept the whole time.
