Camping

Evelyn's first camping trip!  To be perfectly honest, it was equal parts good and bad.  We had lots of fun, but Evelyn slept worse than when she was a newborn. We went to Morris Hill Campground in Hot Springs, VA with Ashley and Brandon from the VA.  It was perfect because it is a small, rustic campground which meant we practically had the whole place to ourselves.  The weather was great until Saturday night when we had storms, but we stayed nice and dry in our new tent. Setting up camp Tents Playing cards Brandon brought Ru along for the trip Are these my chips? The campground was very close to Lake Moomaw so we went to the beach Beach babe With Nate With me Nate and Brandon On the way home we stopped in Covington at the Humpback Bridge Evelyn was sleeping in the car

Just practicing

We are waiting to try solid foods until Evelyn is 6 months old, but I read that baby can practice sitting in their high chair and start to experience family meal time before their half birthday.  Evelyn enjoyed playing with her spoon while she watched Nate and I eat dinner.

Thursday

Evelyn and I went for a run this morning. Then later we visited Nate at work.

Georgia (with lots of pictures)

We took our first family road trip to Gainesville, Georgia to visit Meredith for the weekend.  Evelyn did a terrible job sleeping, but otherwise she was well behaved and I think had a fun time.  Nate and I had lots of fun anyway.  We watched a couple movies, checked out Lake Lanier and the rowing club where Meredith works, and Evelyn went swimming for the first time! Tired after a long trip Hanging out with Puddles Yummy 4th of July treat Testing out Lake Lanier  Time for the pool Evelyn really seemed to like the pool Evelyn looks happy but she's sad to leave

5 months

Evelyn is 5 months old today - wow!  But I have her in disposable diapers right now instead of cloth which means she is wearing her 0-3 month clothes (without the bulk of the cloth diaper anything bigger than 3 months just hangs off of her). Evelyn is just fascinated by Penny.  And Penny is very tolerate of Evelyn.  We spend a lot of time practicing petting Penny and being gentle. She loves her feet!
