Lip Sync

Lip Sync was tonight. Evelyn was in a class act but Jameson was not. He was asked by some other boys to be in a friends group but he said no thank you. It isn’t really Jameson’s thing. We brought McKenzie with us because Jessica was busy tonight. I didn’t buy tickets right away so we ended up in the balcony.  But actually the seats weren’t so bad and it was kind of fun being up with all the acts waiting to go on stage. Evelyn is in the front row, on the far left.   Jameson’s classroom has an ant problem. And only a few kids bring a lunch from home (most kids do school lunch). Well today the ants found Jameson’s lunch box. So his lunch got quarantined and they even washed his lunch box at school. The problem was he didn’t eat much of the school lunch he received as a replacement. He was quite hangry this afternoon.

Happy St Patrick’s Day

Another year another leprechaun trap. This year Evelyn and Jameson each made their own trap. They worked hard and had designed some clever tricks. Evelyn said if she caught one, and she felt pretty confident this was her year, she would give the leprechaun to Hans because he turned 3 today. But alas, this morning there were no leprechauns.  There were dinosaurs! No consensus was made on whether a leprechaun was caught and then released by the dinosaurs. Or did the dinosaurs show up before the leprechaun and trigger the traps. Or together did the leprechaun and dinosaurs make mischief. We may never know. The leprechaun did leave a lot of green balloons and bowl full of green candy.

Weekend update

It was a busy weekend. It started Friday with a sleepover. McKenzie, a friend from the neighborhood and school, spent the night as her mom needed some extra help.We got pizza and watched a movie; everyone had a fun time.  Saturday morning was AIMs - achievement in music. Evelyn’s third year and Jameson’s first. They were tested on written theory, aural training, keyboard skills and their repertoire. But it’s all for fun and the judges are super nice. They both did very well.  In the afternoon it was off to Harper’s birthday party. We were all invited and Evelyn got to spend the night. Jameson didn’t really seem to want to be there. He watched basketball the whole time but finally got excited to play with balloons with Violet.  Sunday Evelyn was tired but Jameson really wanted to go to the Fame festival which is just a big art and music show with works from lots of schools and organizations. They each had a piece of art work on display, chosen by their art teacher. W...

Pep rally

The girls basketball team had a pep rally at school today. I did not attend. I wasn’t busy but I also wasn’t completely free. Plus I am trying to remember that I don’t need to be present at everything, despite still be present at almost all things. Evelyn is pretty independent, I should respect that. Anyway, a couple moms shared some pictures which I really appreciated.

Happy birthday

It’s Nate’s turn for a birthday. We did presents in the morning. Jameson got Nate some Nuun (flavored effervescent tabs you put in water) and a bag of smarties. Evelyn got him two bags of gummy nerds. He also got some beer and hard cider. I got him a new pair of shoes. We had chicken parmesan for dinner and a chocolate pie for dessert. Evelyn went back to school today too! She came home early on Monday because her stomach hurt.  She was sick that afternoon into evening. She went back on Tuesday but stayed home Wednesday and Thursday. It was one of those weeks but we are all glad she is feeling better.
