Basketball

Kids have been out of school since Friday. Everyone’s feeling a little cooped up. We have left the house for some things but when we had the chance to go to a Purdue Fort Wayne women’s basketball game last night we took it. Kids were free and it was national girls and women in sports day.  We picked up Evelyn’s friend Daphne on our way. We just got upper level seats. It’s not a big gym so there’s no need to pay extra for lower level seats. We weren’t there very long before the emcee came over and offered us 5 court side seats. We figured it was because we brought the only two girls in the building. We didn’t take anymore pictures but some of us did show up on social media. Court side seats are pretty awesome.

HBD Jameson

Jameson turned 10 yesterday! It was a fairly normal Tuesday except there was no basketball game or soccer practice which was a nice change of pace. He asked for cinnamon rolls for breakfast. I was only able to make them in time for school because they had a two hour delay. After school and dinner out it was time to open presents. Evelyn got him a new board game based on the tv show survivor. She played it at a friend’s house and thought Jameson would like it.  He also got some fun treats - pop, candy and chips.  Finally time for cake!

Basketball

Evelyn had a basketball tournament in Grand Rapids this weekend. We stayed with Grandma Pat and Grandpa Paul which worked out great. The middle school Evelyn played at was only 15 minutes away.  Her Saturday games didn’t start till late, so it was a long day of waiting. The good part was that meant we had time to see the Hilldores in the afternoon.  Evelyn’s team played very well. The season is almost over and they have come a long way. They went 1-1 in pool play on Saturday so they played in the second place bracket on Sunday. They won their first two matches and then lost in the championship round.  Evelyn didn’t play a ton but she looked pretty good while she was out there. One of the best parts was her whole team came!

It’s the last day of break. Here’s a photo collage of some of the fun things we did. Rock climbing with Isaac and Joshua Annual cousins project; rubber band cars   Christmas Day; new jerserys New Year’s Eve party with friends  Roller skating with friends  Soccer with friends.  And a good win; 14-1 Braces!
