More fun at the zoo

Obviously I've stopped taking pictures of the animals and just take ones of my kids.

Fun in the sun

We spent a good portion of the day outside. A run in the morning followed by a play date at the park. After naps, we met Nate at the zoo.  Up close with the orangutan.  Waving bye to the train.  Of course the Komodo dragon.  Happy world giraffe day!

17 months and Butterflies

Jameson is 17 months old.  He got a haircut yesterday and woke up with some serious bed head.  Jameson now says yeah which is helpful (especially when he means it).  He finally cut his bottom fourth tooth.  He climbed out of the crib one morning last week, something Evelyn never did, so Nate moved the mattress down.  He also has taken to feeding himself which is messy but kinda nice too.  It took him a while, but he loves our new kiddie pool and the splash pad. Today we went to the botanical gardens to see the live butterfly exhibit. There were butterflies from Asia, Africa, and South America and some were quite friendly.  This guy landed on my leg and I was able to hold him for a while. Evelyn was a little timid at first but quickly decided she wanted to try and hold one too.  She "caught" this one all by herself. Jameson seemed to think the butterflies were pretty exciting too.  He wasn't quite as pa...

Father's day

We had a low key Father's Day. Nate got some snuggles with Jameson in the morning. After lunch we went to the bike shop and then went for a walk/bike ride downtown along the river.  We finished up the day with popsicles on the porch.

Soccer

Evelyn finished soccer last night. I think she did a great job. Her dribbling skills seem to have improved and she almost never used her hands. She probably struggled the most with the concept of scrimmaging. But this was also her first introduction to it.  Ice cream after soccer!  The girl at TCBY claimed a waffle cone was the smallest cone they had so Evelyn and I shared. Jameson really liked the waffle cone too.

Kenosha

We made a weekend trip to Kenosha to visit my Grandma.  Evelyn and Jameson also got to meet Gerald (pictured below) from the Elephant and Piggie book series by Mo Willems.  My grandma and Clarence like to read the books together out on their porch, so I think maybe I need to check out a few from our library. Aunt Katherine came to Kenosha too, along with my parents.  My Aunt Ginger was also there. We spent the night in Wisconsin so Nate could do a time trial Sunday morning.  He took 5th place out of 65 racers. The kids and I hung out at the pool while Nate raced.

More zoo

Another fun day spent at the zoo with friends.
