Happy Easter

We had a very nice Easter weekend. Friday the kid’s served with me in the nursery for the 3:00 service and then we attended at 6:30 as a family. Saturday we decorated sugar cookies and dyed Easter eggs.  Sunday morning we went to church, watched basketball, and had an Easter egg hunt. I made ham, cheesy potatoes, and green beans for dinner.

Thursday, Friday, Saturday

Evelyn and Jameson have a 4 day weekend. Thursday night was the Croninger lip sync. Only Jameson performed. His class teamed up with another second grade class. As always the lip sync was fun to watch. We only stayed for the first half since Grandma Pat and Grandpa Paul were waiting for us at home.  Friday morning I had Bible study, Nate and Paul tiled our guest bathroom, and Pat watched Evelyn and Jameson.  They played outside but we did some quiet activities too and watched lots of basketball. Saturday morning was Fame festival. Evelyn had a piece of art work on display and the Croninger Choir also performed. It was a fun event to go with Grandma and Grandpa.  Jameson had a birthday party in the afternoon. I hung out and chatted with some other parents. Evelyn relaxed at home. Nate worked on the grout for the bathroom floor. A good, busy Saturday.

More basketball

Evelyn, together with her basketball team, went to Indianapolis today for the Horizon league women’s championship game. Nate took the day off to help chaperone. It sounded like everyone had a lot fun. They carpooled with two other moms and their girls and everyone made it back to school on time for the first girls on the run practice.

Basketball

At the beginning of the season if you had asked me “will the girls go undefeated again this year?” I would have answered absolutely not. They were a small team with several new players. But guess what they did. They went undefeated in league play. The format was a little different this year and there is no end of season tournament but the Croninger girls still were 7-0. Evelyn got lots of playing time in tonight’s last game and she scored two baskets.

Happy birthday

It’s Nate’s birthday! It was a rare day where we had nothing scheduled to do. The weather was so nice we decided to go explore a new place to hike, Salamonie River State Forest. It wasn’t long into our hike that we realized the online map of the property wasn’t going to be much help. There were more trails in person than there were on the map and we quickly didn’t know where we were or where to go. We did find one waterfall early. There were also a few small creeks crossings which like waterfalls are always fun.  After about a mile of walking, we found the horseman’s campground. All the trails are also bridle trails so we saw lots of horses today. We ate lunch at a picnic table but better yet, there were maps at the check-in station.  Evelyn decided after lunch she wanted to wear my daypack.  With a more detailed map in hand, hiking was much more relaxed. Jameson tried the daypack too. After a little while though he started to tire of walking and then Evelyn slid in...
