The Accidental Boilermaker

Introducing Jameson’s La Liga team. He was asked to play goalie on a futsal team for Fort Wayne’s La Liga winter season.  It was all boys from his soccer club but not boys he often plays with. The final tournament was today. The boys easily won their first game. Jameson had some awesome saves.  Second game was much closer. They lost 5-7. Jameson had another great game. It was tied and then one goal went high and he jumped but couldn’t quite get his fingers on the ball to deflect it. The other was a PK which is so hard to defend. The boys were of course disappointed. But Jameson really played his best games as goalie. He was locked in and even took two shots on goal.  Nothing wrong with second place. I don’t know their final record but they only lost two games all season.

 Middle school basketball tournament play started last week. Evelyn’s team had a record of 11-1 so they had a bye on Tuesday. They played Wednesday and won. Semi finals were Thursday and they won.  City finals was Saturday. It was a tight game in the beginning. The girls had beat this other team in the regular season so they knew they could do it again. In the second half they settled down a bit and were able to get ahead and stay ahead. They won 38-19. Evelyn played in all four quarters and had 4 points. 

 Evelyn turned 12 on Tuesday!  I am finally getting around to posting pictures because the week was so busy. It’s hard when your birthday is a weekday and no 2 hr delay like Jameson got. She asked for donuts for breakfast so I go up early to run to Jack’s. Which is worth it because they are good donuts. Then off to school and basketball practice.  Leftovers for dinner because Jameson had soccer practice (birthday dinner finally happened tonight).  At last, time for cupcakes and presents!
