Indy Eleven

Jameson’s birthday present this year was tickets to see an Indy Eleven soccer game (minor league soccer). Nate and I decided this weekend was a good idea since it’s the start of spring break and it was their home opener.  We drove down early and ate dinner at Weber Grill. We still had plenty of time before the game so we walked around monument circle.  The stadium was pretty full.  We were lucky no one else sat in our row so we had room to spread out. The Indy Eleven plays on IU Indianapolis’ soccer/track and field stadium so the bleachers are set back from the field. We didn’t love that but you still had a decent view.  It drizzled on and off the whole game. It was not cold which was nice. We brought rain coats and ponchos and used both.  Jameson got a new jersey.  He was very excited.  Very unexpectedly, the mascot Zeke showed up in our row.  We joked he followed Jameson from the fan store.  It was a good game overall. Bonus lip sync photos

Photographs from lip sync were shared today!

LC Nature Park

Girls on the Run had a special event this morning at LC Nature Park. The park has been a long time supporter of GOTR so this was a chance to give back to the nature park. We have never visited; it is a privately owned park so you can’t just show up and walk around. Our group had our own guide and we were lucky enough to see the bison and elk herds up close. It was a cool, breezy day, so I would love to come back when spring is in full swing. Jameson took all the pictures of the animals.

Weekend fun

Evelyn and Jameson are enjoying a four day weekend. Friday we recovered from lip sync and waited for grandma Pat and grandpa Paul to arrive. Saturday was a busy day with AIMs in the morning. Evelyn and Jameson both did a good job and played their piano repertoire pieces well. They’ll get their results from their teacher later but it’s all about becoming a better musician.  In the afternoon we went to FAME which is a big arts festival featuring student art and music.  The Croninger choir sang and did a nice job.  Evelyn and Jameson both had art selected by their art teacher to be on display also. Sunday was more relaxed. We went to church and then out to eat. Monday before grandma and grandpa had to leave we enjoyed coffee and a treat.

Lip sync

Croninger lip sync was last night. Evelyn and Jameson were both in class acts. Evelyn’s teacher wasn’t going to do one so the mom of one of her friends decided she’d organize an act. It was awesome that she did. It’s their last lip sync and Evelyn’s class kind of needed something to look forward too. I created the t shirts with some input from the class. They danced to the song APT which was a huge crowd favorite.  Jameson’s class performed to Butter by BTS. They did a great job too.

Stuff

What have we been up to? Stuff. We finally took down at big tree in our backyard. It was a fun process to watch.  Evelyn’s basketball team had a great season. The only lost one game. The end of season tourney was cancelled which was a bummer.  But girls on the run started this week! Jameson finished his futsal season. It was a long season, so I think we were all ready for indoor soccer to be finished. He gets a few weeks off till spring soccer kicks off.  Time change confusion. Jameson fell asleep on the floor, under the coffee table. Evelyn fell asleep on the couch.  I liked this picture of Evelyn taken at Circle the State with Song.  One last picture of Jameson in his birthday hoodie he never takes off.

Happy birthday Nathan

It was Nate’s birthday. Monday birthdays are hard but luckily Nate got to work out of Fort Wayne today. We had waffles and bacon for breakfast and he opened gifts. Dinner was carnitas bowls and after piano and soccer practice, ice cream for dessert. Cheers to 40!
