Baby shower

It was a busy weekend. We had soccer Friday night, basketball Saturday afternoon, lifegroup Saturday evening, Nate played at church Sunday morning so we went to church too, the kids had piano Sunday afternoon while I hosted a baby shower.  The shower was for a friend from Bible study small group. She has four boys and baby number five is a girl.  I’ve known Katie for about two years and she’s an incredibly sweet girl.  She went through a difficult event over the summer and it might sound silly but I felt lead to host a shower for her. She invited her friends and family and then a few other ladies from Bible study.  We had I think 17 people come which was less than had RSVP’d. I kind of panicked and asked my friend Tamber if I could borrow some tables and chairs. She was so gracious and dropped off two 6ft tables and six chairs after lifegroup. It was perfect because it meant everyone had a seat to eat if they wanted. I made a vanilla Texas sheet cake and then w...

Happy birthday Jameson

Jameson is 9!  It was a day off from work and school due to MLK day so we all spent the day together. Jameson asked for pancakes and bacon for breakfast. He gradually opened presents as the morning went on. Evelyn got him some premier league soccer trading cards which went straight into his new trading card binder from Grandma Pat and Grandpa Paul.  He was pretty excited for his own Mountain Dew. He also got a new soccer game to play on the switch and tickets to go see the Indy Eleven play at the end of March.  Jameson decided he wanted fish for dinner, specifically perch if it was possible. We decided on a popular local fish fry kind of place and surprise they did have perch! Our waitress was so nice and sent us home with two free pieces of pie for Jameson’s birthday. But we had Texas sheet cake waiting at home. The pie will wait till tomorrow.

Winter fun

We did a few fun things before school started on Tuesday. Last Friday we went ice skating with Tamber and Natalya. Jameson chose not to skate but he did take some pictures.  Monday we had just enough snow to go sledding. Not many other people were there but then a friend from school showed up so that was fun.

Christmas in Holland

Oh my goodness so bad at blogging.  Christmas in Holland was a great time. Lots of silliness and fun and togetherness.  We opened presents and played with presents.  Aunt C came over and we got to visit and catch-up.  Jameson gave up Sunday afternoon and crashed. Thankfully he wasn’t sick, just really tired.  We continued our tradition of rock climbing.  It’s fun to do and fun to see how good Isaac and Joshua are at it.  We celebrated Isaac’s birthday with more presents, a yummy dinner and dessert.
