Muncie Children's Museum

Today we drove to Muncie to visit their children's museum and we met Maryca, Bella, Millie and their grandma down there too.  It's a nice museum with lots of different stations and play areas.  I thought this giant lite brite was pretty cool. There was a big play area with slides and tunnels. A grocery store which Evelyn loved. Jameson liked the puppies in the doghouse. Never too early to learn a trade. When we came home this little guy was waiting for us in the garage.  Evelyn was terrified of him, so Jameson and I caught him and set him free outside.

Outside

Spring is here and that means warmer weather and more time outside.  Evelyn riding her bike along the greenway. Evelyn and Jameson waiting for Nate to come home. Swinging and blowing bubbles with some friends. Jameson learned how to go down the slide on his tummy.

14 months old

Jameson is 14 months old.  He has a few more words - bye, bubbles, ball, car, and meow.  He understands a lot too.  He can also walk backwards. Jameson loves cookies, but really, who doesn't?  He also likes most fruits and several veggies.  Sleeping continues to be up and down; he can sleep through the night, but usually he wakes up once.  We've started reading more books at night which is fun.  He also really loves these hooded towels.  I have to hide them because otherwise if he sees them, he has to have them. Nate teaches Monday evenings so we try to get out of the house in the afternoon and today was free cone day at Dairy Queen!  Jameson and I shared a cone. Evelyn got her own, but she couldn't finish it.

Date night and dance recital

My parents drove over Thursday afternoon so Nate and I could go on a special birthday date night.  As a surprise for Nate, I bought tickets to see the Infamous Stringdusters, a blue grass group we discovered in Virginia.  They are currently on tour, so we drove down to Indianapolis, got dinner, and went to the concert.  It was amazing and totally worth not getting home until 2am. Friday it snowed and right as my dad and I were taking Eve and JJ out for a run.  And I love to run in the snow : ) This morning was Evelyn's first dace recital. Waiting on stage before dress rehearsal.   Dress rehearsal before the real show.  There were two sections of pre-ballet, but each class performed their own routine. Backstage selfie Waiting backstage for her class's turn to preform.  Finally the dance recital! I thought the little girls in Evelyn class did quite well and Evelyn seemed to enjoy dance.  T...

Birthday Party

Evelyn's friend Harper turned 3 and had her birthday party yesterday. Harper had a Little Mermaid themed party and her mom, my friend Sarah, made these cupcakes!  You couldn't buy more professional looking cupcakes.  We went straight from swim lessons to the party, so Jameson was a little sleepy and cuddly. Today it snowed.  Not a whole lot, but enough to bundle up and play outside for a little while. Jameson wasn't as excited as Evelyn.  He doesn't have his own snow boots and instead has to wear Evelyn's boots from last year.  They are too big and he can't really walk around so I think that contributes to his grumpiness.

Last weekend

Finally posting about last weekend!  The reason for the delay?  Nate and I both had a stomach bug on Monday.  I won't go into details, but I think that's the sickest I've ever been in my life. Last Friday Amanda, Isaac, Joshua and Aunt C came down for the weekend and it was Nate's birthday.  We had cake and ice cream and opened presents. Saturday morning we went to the science museum. Jameson enjoyed it because we parked the stroller and he got to run around. Evelyn using the levers and buttons to make the robotic arm move. Evelyn seemed to think she could stay up during nap time with Isaac after the museum but she didn't quite make it. On Sunday we went out for doughnuts and then a nice walk along the river.
