Our Garden

Yesterday we rented a garden from Purdue Village (married and graduate housing at the university).  We tilled half our plot and planted three rows of onions, zucchini, green beans, tomatos, and peppers.  We also have 1 watermelon plant. What the plot looked like before - lots and lots of weeds The plants Our hard work so far Today we planted seeds in trays to try to get them to sprout before we transplant them to the other half of the garden.  Our plan is the more we plant, the better our chances that something will grow.

Graduation

I got my diploma tonight!  Boiler Up!

I'm alive!

In recognition of Earth Day this week, Nate and I have decided to forget those plastic bags you get at the grocery store and use reusable bags.  Let me tell you, it makes life so much easier. And here's a picture of Penny!

100th Post!

Well, Irish eyes weren't smiling on me and Nate yesterday when we were at the casino, but we had fun anyway.  We only spent a total of $20 and won $10 playing keno, so we almost broke even. Today Penny and I had a photo session and I made Irish soda bread. Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Duh!

So I was watching the news and I see a picture of Joe Biden and I think what is on his head?  Didn't anyone have the decency to tell the VP that he has a big old smudge on his forehead.  And then I realize, oh yeah, it's Ash Wednesday.  Gee wheeze.

"...in the kitchen boiling society"

Okay not really, but I did make chocolate chip cookies. Things that went wrong today: Spilled milk all over the futon and on Nate's lecture notes Tripped, shortly after spilling the milk, and tumbled into the corner of a wall - all before 7am Went to find an article in the periodicals only to discover someone had ripped it out of the book!  Who does that!  Was the American College of Sports Medicine position stand on exercise and osteoporosis that important that they needed it for all eternity?!? Things that went well today: My students did really well on their body composition practical The other TA I work with cancelled lab for Thursday.  Why - I'm not 100% sure, but how could I make my students come if she isn't going to make hers? Nate yanked my broken and corroded ear buds out of my ipod .  I can finally hear in both sides, not just the right : )

Surprise!

On Saturday, we drove down to Decatur for my Mimi's surprise 70th birthday party. The ice sculpture that my cousin made.  It took him less than an hour - he's that good. My grandpa got Mimi here by telling her they were going to another birthday party. The grandkids and the cake. Meredith playing with the babies. Wyatt says, "Nate why are you so tall?"
